The article analyzes criminal and legal prohibitions in the field of ensuring transport security, by the example of the legislation of Lithuania, the Republic of Estonia, Poland, Sweden, Norway and the Czech Republic. The author comes to the conclusion that in some countries of Eastern Europe and the Baltic region, whose criminal legislation could not feel the influence of the CIS Model Code, language of acts similar to domestic ones does not occur, and criminal responsibility for violation of transport security is established on the basis of the specifics of the national legal system. Thus, in the overwhelming majority of European states, criminal law enforcement of the safety of the functioning of transport is achieved only by norms that protect human life and health.
