Criminal pressure on business

The article is devoted to the issues of criminal pressure on business. Last year, the Office of the Commissioner under the President of the Russian Federation for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs received 3,876 appeals related to criminal prosecution, business ombudsman Boris Titov told the XIII All-Russian Conference of Entrepreneurs for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs. “The problem of criminal pressure on business still remains a serious part of our work. We have summed up our activities over the past year. More than 30 % of all complaints are specifically related to criminal prosecution. So, at the federal level, we received 3876 applications, of which 326 are in work. The regional commissioners received 3,982 appeals, of which 310 were in the paper. All together, almost 8,000 complaints are received. The effectiveness of the institute in terms of appeals and victories is not yet high enough, but it is worth noting that there are fewer registered crimes for economic articles, in particular, 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud), and the number of people in the SIZO for this composition has decreased” Titov said at a meeting of the expert council devoted to the discussion of the annual report of the Commissioner for the prosecution of entrepreneurs...
