The Kuban Ukrainians during the post-Soviet period: ethno-sociological aspect

The article deals with summarized material on ethno-social and demographic processes in the community of Ukrainians during the post-Soviet period. The author considers cultural and social activities of the Ukrainian emigrants living in the territory of Kuban, particularly, their activities in book trade, publishing, musical, and scientific spheres. The paper describes distinctive features of the Ukrainian ethnos representatives in Kuban, including low level of solidarity and Russianism, which are typical for the young generation. The author notes propensity of Ukrainian communities rather to keep intellectual and art subculture, than to create an ethnic diaspora.
