The family values strengthening: social welfare norms' potential

Бесплатный доступ

The Russian state appeal to the problem of strengthening traditional spiritual and moral values, among which is a strong family, requires an analysis of legal norms aimed at achieving this goal. Among them, social security regulations play a significant role. A strong family is, first of all, a family with many children and multigenerational. And if significant attention is paid to the support of a large family and families with children in general, then a multi-generational family does not receive such support. The article analyses some provisions of social security legislation that could provide more effective support for a multi-generational family. In particular, we are talking about the need to provide temporary disability benefits when it is necessary to care for a sick elderly family member who arose after the dismissal of the insured person, as well as a change in the approach to determining the composition of the family for the purposes of state social assistance. Special attention is paid to the involvement of relatives in the system of long-term care for the elderly, as well as accelerating the introduction of a foster family for the elderly.
