This article shows the possibility of improving the tribotechnical characteristics of a silver-based antifriction coating due to graphite alloying. A method for determining the friction coefficients and the wear rate of an antifriction material based on silver is presented. The results of comparing the friction coefficients in a friction pair of steel SHX-15 and an antifriction material based on pure silver and with the addition of 6% graphite to the melt are shown. It was found that when alloying a silver coating with graphite, the coefficient of friction decreases by 47...48%. For a friction pair of an antifriction material containing 94% silver and 6% graphite and steel SHX-15, the coefficient of wear intensity of the antifriction surface at a contact voltage of 330 MPa is I = 1.96 .10-6 mm3 /m, and for a counterbody in the form of a steel ball Ish = 4.46 .10-8 mm3 /m. Since the wear rate of the ball is two orders of magnitude lower than the wear rate of the antifriction material, the wear of the ball can be ignored in the calculations. The dependence of the coefficient of wear intensity on the maximum contact stresses is obtained, which will allow us to develop a methodology for calculating hinge bearings for wear.
