“Speculation on the Russian word”. A review of the monograph by O. B. Sokurova, “Slovo v istorii russkoy dukhovnosti i kul’tury” (“The word in the history of Russian spirituality and culture”)

The review analyzes the author’s complex approach to the development of the topic, expressed in a combination of historical, philological, philosophical and theological knowledge. Te originality of the research methodology is noted: the place and meaning of the word in the national culture are studied by the author of the monograph at different levels of its existence, from concept to Logos. Undoubtedly, one of the positive aspects of the monograph identified by the reviewer is the depth of textual analysis and the freshness and accuracy of observations, which the author of the book shows when considering significant works of Russian literature. Te review supports the most important idea of the author of the monograph: that the call to restore the integrity of man, fraternal relations between people and universal interrelations following the model of Trinitarian unity in love, is the cherished “word” that Russian culture brings to the world
