University education in pre-revolutionary Russia

The article deals with the issue of the establishment and development of the university education in the Russian empire of the XVIIIth - the beginning of the XXth centuries, the consideration of its change, depending on the new legal system in the sphere of Enlightenment, and the revealing of the reasons of adopting the new Statutes in the context of the direction of the internal politics of the state.
