There is a lot of confusion about what exactly supply chain management involves. The relevance of the chosen topic lies in the fact that supply chain management is becoming an effective tool for improving the efficiency of companies. However, successful supply chain management requires cross-functional integration of key business processes within the firm and in the network of firms that make up the supply chain. First, this article defines supply chain management. The following is the structure of supply chain management, as well as proposals for its implementation. We have come to the conclusion that successful supply chain management requires the integration of business processes with key participants in the supply chain. A lot of friction and, consequently, waste of valuable resources occurs when supply chains are not integrated, optimized and managed properly.
