The construction of most systems with space-based elements includes the use of radio facilities. In some cases, for example, when solving problems of remote sensing of the Earth, it is fundamentally important to ensure a very high-energy potential of radio lines. A significant tool for achieving the necessary energy are antenna systems. For reasons determined by the particular placement and operating conditions, in addition to a large gain and a sufficiently low level of side lobes, a number of additional requirements and restrictions are imposed. Among them: the need to ensure minimum mass and energy consumption, a sufficient wide range, stability of geometric and electrical characteristics, a very small volume during transportation to the place of deployment and the ability to bring into working condition exclusively by automation, simplicity and reliability of the design, and in some cases it is desirable to have possibilities of electronic control of electrical characteristics.
