Managing the economic security of the region in the information space in the context of the digital transformation of the economy and society

The article is devoted to the issues of managing the economic security of Russian regions in thecontext of the digital transformation of the economy and society. The paper systematizes approaches to determining the essence of economic security at the regional level. The challenges and threats to economic securityin the conditions of digitalization of the economy, which are formed on the scale of the world, national andregional economic systems, are considered and characterized. Special attention is paid to the need to form a secure digital foundation for the development of the national economy of the Russian Federation and its regions. Based on the analysis of the rating of the digital transformation of Russian regions, the conclusion ismade about the existing problem of significant regional digital inequality, the presence of which may furtherslow down the growth of the digital economy and create threats to economic security. The monitoring of thedevelopment of the information society and the digital economy in one of the leading regions of digital transformation - the Republic of Tatarstan was carried out. A conceptual model of regional economic securitymanagement is proposed, considering regional strategic development priorities and modern challenges of thedigital economy. The necessity of developing regional economic security strategies at the level of the subjectsof the Russian Federation and/or federal districts is substantiated.
