The article deals with the problem of corruption in Customs authorities as a factor that reduces the transit attractiveness of the State. The importance of transit capacity of the State as an alternative source of economic growth is established. The role of Customs authorities in the development of transit capacity of the State during the transition to service-oriented management is clarified. The concept of Customs logistics is revealed. The possible correlation of the ongoing changes with the intensification of corruption risks is outlined. The historical background of corruption is considered. The article describes the peculiarities of Сustoms activities forming its corruption nature. The essence of Customs activities monopolistic nature is explained and its connection with the formation of corruption risks is established. The objective and subjective causes of corruption in Customs authorities are highlighted. The impact of corruption in Customs authorities on the State economy and the behavior of business entities are studied. The role of information technologies as a method of combating corruption in Customs authorities is generalized.
