In the presented work, the authors consider the key issues of managing logistics flows in the Russian economy under the influence of the coronavirus pandemic and external sanctions pressure from a number of foreign countries that have changed the conditions of functioning of economic entities, disrupted existing logistics chains, business processes. The purpose of this study is to conduct an economic, statistical and factorial assessment of the development of the logistics sector and the logistics flow management system of the Russian Federation in the context of the coronavirus pandemic and external sanctions pressure from a number of foreign countries. In the course of the study, the authors identified the following changes: in 2017-2021, cargo turnover in general for all modes of transport in the Russian Federation increased by more than 3.8%, and the total volume of goods loading increased by 1.3%. The dynamics of the value of this indicator over the period under review is multidirectional, since in 2020, under the influence of the coronavirus pandemic, there is a decrease of 2.72% compared to the previous year. Also in 2017-2021, the volume of exports and imports of goods in the Russian Federation increased by 37.38 and 28.97 percent, respectively, which is a positive trend in the aspect of the development of foreign economic activity. In general, the Russian logistics market can be divided into the following areas: transportation, freight forwarding in all categories of transport, warehousing services, integration and supply chain management. Suboptimal loading of transport, insufficient level of development of transport and logistics infrastructure, lack of vehicles and warehouses that meet modern logistics requirements, lack of optimization of logistics flows are among the key problems in the field of logistics. The solution to these problems largely lies in the optimization of existing business flows and processes. The necessary steps towards the development of a logistics flow management system are building logistics systems, optimizing inventory management, determining the needs and capabilities of transport and warehouses, working with risks. According to the results of the study, the authors have made appropriate conclusions and recommendations.
