Management of the resource potential of the socio-economic system as a source for increasing competitiveness

The article presents the results of the study of the resource potential of the socio-economic system on the materials and in the conditions of the organizations of the educational services market of the Belgorod Region. The aim of the research was the search for possible ways to improve the competitiveness of organizations of the higher education system through more efficient management of elements of the resource potential. The research methodology included several stages: analysis of theoretical data on the research problem; assessment of the resource potential of the object of study; identifying trends and identifying growth points for organizations of higher education of the Belgorod Region. Based on the analysis of theoretical data on the research problem, the need to use the resource approach to assess the potential of the elements of socio-economic systems was justified. The structure of competitive potential was analyzed and its components were highlighted. Testing of the proposed research methodology was carried out on the example of a leading regional university - Belgorod State National Research University. The competitive potential of the university was analyzed by key blocks of activity and on the basis of the position of the university in leading international and national rankings.
