Risk management in agricultural business in the pandemic period

The results of the assessment of losses of agricultural producers in the Krasnodar Territory are presented, the actual risks for agricultural producers are identified, and proposals for risk management in a pandemic are formulated. The available data on the losses of the future harvest in 2020 are presented. Actual risks in the current and upcoming period for agricultural producers have been identified, among which are logistics, commercial, credit, economic, industrial, natural and climatic. The analysis of the used methods of risk management in the industry in the Russian Federation and the region has been carried out, which allowed us to formulate proposals for risk management in agricultural entrepreneurship in a pandemic. The key instruments of a risk management policy should be agricultural insurance; deferred payment of principal for 12 months. on loans subsidized by the federal authorities, while maintaining the preferential rate; diversification of activities; transition to cheaper components of production; launching a program of own production (for example, seed production, nursery farming); the use of new distribution channels for products (online trading, home delivery of products).
