Although battery management systems do not attract much attention, today's electric cars would not be possible without them. Inside the battery pack of every electric car is a BMS, which is responsible for the safety and longevity of their powerful but temperamental cells. Now that EVs are entering the mainstream market, both their batteries and the BMS technology they rely on must evolve to meet growing market expectations for increased price, performance and reliability.
