This study is devoted to the issues of increasing life expectancy as an indicator of its quality. As a result of the conducted research, the dependence of the quality of life of the population of the Rostov region on the level of life expectancy was revealed. This conclusion was confirmed by the developed cognitive map, which will reveal the impact of changes in parameters on the level of life expectancy as an indicator of the quality of life of the population. The methodological basis of the presented research is: scientific positions and concepts of foreign and domestic authors who have studied the relationship between the quality and life expectancy of the population using systemic and cognitive approaches. In the process of the analysis, the methods of theoretical research, economic and statistical analysis were used. A study of factors affecting the level and quality of life of the population of the Rostov region is presented, the relationship between income and life expectancy is considered. The fundamental parameters of the human development index have been investigated and methods have been developed to increase the level of life expectancy in the region. Scientific novelty of the study: measures aimed at increasing the level of life expectancy in the Rostov region have been developed, and the possibility of changing the parameters of the cognitive map on the quality of life of the population has been revealed.
