Standard of living of the population of a region in the context of the index of human potential development

The paper considers the categories «equality of life», «standard of living» and «human potential». The standard of living of the population of the Republic of Mordovia was analyzed with the use of the index of human potential development from 2006 to 2012; the author draws a conclusion about progressive development of socially important performance in the region.
