Yield and parameters of adaptability of a monolor of the white one-year (Melilotus albus medik) in the conditions of forest-steppe of Middle Volga region

The results of studies of four varieties and nine promising lines of one-year white clover made in 2016-2018 are presented in the Volga NIISS. The studied varieties and promising lines of clover differed in terms of plasticity and stability of the yield of green mass. The greatest resistance to unfavorable environmental factors was shown by the varieties Srednevolzhsky, Kinelsky, Zavolzhsky and the Hugh 0, Hugh 40 and C + 1 varieties, which showed the smallest yield decrease in contrasting growing conditions. On the basis of the calculated parameters of adaptability, valuable samples have been distinguished, combining high rates of average yield and homeostatism with low and medium variability. All the studied varieties and lines have a high breeding value and can be used as starting material for creating new white clover varieties for the conditions of the Middle Volga forest-steppe.
