Yield, oil accumulation and quality of oil flax seeds in the conditions of Northern Kazakhstan

In recent years, there has been an increased interest in the cultivation of oil flax not only for obtaining high-quality oil, but also for its use in technical, medical and other purposes. In this regard, the selection of oilseed flax is one of the important areas that determines its purpose in the production. In the course of research, 37 varieties of oilseed flax brought from zones of various ecological and geographical origin, which have certain quality indicators, were studied. The article presents the results of studies on the yield and quality indicators of flax oilseeds in the LLP “SPC GF named after A.I. Barayevˮ. Samples recommended for use in breeding as promising varieties for high yield, oil content and quality are selected. Of greatest interest for breeding work are Kostanay varieties, as high-yielding - 19.2 c/ha, VNIIMK high-oil variety - 47.9%, as valuable sources for the food industry - Istok variety, for technical - VNIIMK variety.
