Strengthening the general criminal prevention of terrorist offences

The article discusses the specifics of the regulation of criminal liability for terrorist offences. The thesis of the emergence of additional possibilities to counter terrorist threats is consistently substantiated. The aim of the paper is to demonstrate the criminal law potential of providing broader criminalisation as a means of improving the preventive effect of the criminal law. The author reaches scientifically substantiated conclusions on the basis of an in-depth analysis of criminal legislation on the prohibition of terrorist manifestations in its relationship to the provisions of the General Part of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, as well as taking into account doctrinal findings on the issue of countering terrorist offences and crime prevention.
