Conditions of digital transformation of land improvement industry of agro-industrial complex of the Russian Federation

The need for digital transformation of agro-industrial complex of the Russian Federation and the land improvement industry is directly connected with the processes that ensure the creation of digital products and the use of digitized technologies in the industry. Thus, according to the analytical center of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the influence of information technologies on the cost of grain production was revealed. It showed that investments in IT products for the industryconnected with the operation of irrigation systems give a reduction in costs by approximately 16%. Such a result will undoubtedlycontribute to an increase in labor productivity in the industry, and, consequently, increase the competitiveness and financial stability of the firms. As the subject of the study, the authors identified the conditions of digital transformation in the land improvement industry of the agro-industrial complex of the Russian Federation. The aim of the paper was to identify favorable opportunities and counteracting factors in the development of the digitalization process of land improvement industry, as well as to identify the strong and weak characteristics of the firms as participants in this process. In the article, such research methods as statistical, situational, logical and SWOT analyses were used. As the results of the study, the authors made the conclusion that allows us to emphasize the features of the digital space of land improvement industry. The conclusions made it possible to obtain an objective assessment of current conditions of digitalization of land improvement, plan and predict both positive and negative trends ofdigital transformation for firms in land improvement, and mobilize more reasonablya varietyof resources necessaryfor adaptation and digital breakthrough in the land improvement industry.
