The improved technique of femoral bilocal distraction osteosynthesis in patients with achondroplasia

A little-damage technique for lengthening of femoral bones is discussed. The improvements proposed for base technique refer to the way of wire insertion and the tactics of patient's postoperative management. 15 patients with achondroplasia were treated, who were subjected to the lengthening of 19 femurs using the technique of bilocal distraction osteosynthesis. 10-12 cm lengthening was achieved.
