Despite the successes of modern surgery, cholangiogenic abscesses remain one of the most difficult complications in surgical hepatology. The traditionally used methods of surgical interventions are quite traumatic and often insufficiently adequate, especially with multiple abscesses, as well as with the development of sepsis [1-3]. The combination with minimally invasive techniques (in the form of interventions under the control of radiation navigation (ultrasound, X-ray), endoscopy and laparoscopy) can significantly improve the treatment results of this category of patients [4-5]. The most common cause of cholangiogenic abscesses is cicatricial stricture of the bile ducts and prolonged choledocholithiasis [2-3]. Some authors separately consider immunosuppression against the background of malignant neoplasms of the hepatopancreatoduodenal zone, HIV infection and other diseases as the cause of the formation of liver abscesses [1-3].
