Establishing the order of application of gunshot injuries on the elements of the car body

Introduction: in the process of conducting a forensic ballistic examination, it is often necessary to establish various circumstances of the shot, including the sequence of formation of gunshot injuries. The importance of such examinations as a source of judicial evidence is great, since the established facts contribute to the formation of a correct legal assessment of the event of the incident and the proof of other circumstances to be established in cases of crimes involving the use of firearms. In this article, based on the conducted experiment, the possibility of establishing the sequence of the formation of gunshot injuries is considered. Materials and Methods: the research material was objects obtained as a result of an expert experiment. The methodological basis was made up of general scientific and special methods of cognition (measurement, study, comparison, etc.) Results: the signs allowing to establish the sequence of gunshot injuries were determined. Discussion and Conclusions: the conducted research gives grounds to assert that when a bullet hits the elements of the car body that have a paint coating, plastic deformation of the metal and paint coating occurs around the damage in the form of a uniform dent, the intensity of deformation decreases from the center to the periphery, with the formation of clearly defined boundaries of the contour of the peeling of the paint coating in the form of a roller.
