Establishment of guardianship system in Kalmykia by provisions of 1834 and 1847

The article considers the key moments of nation building of Kalmykia in the second quarter of the 19 th century. The study has shown that the Provisions of 1834 and 1847 were designed to exercise guardianship and acceleration of the Kalmyk society’s integration in the social structure of Russia: by the middle of the 19 th century Kalmykia lost all the remaining elements of the administrative autonomy.
