Sustainable development of the digital society

This publication examines the directions of development of a strong digital society, where every individual, including the coming generations, is provided with a decent existence and a promising future. Transformations in production, investments and lifestyle are considered, as well as changes in the interaction of politics, science, business and society. Digitalization should be used as a powerful tool to achieve the goals of sustainable development of society, as it offers a huge range of opportunities ranging from sensor technologies to optimization of self-organizing systems. The main task of humanity is to develop a common idea of a sustainable future based on digital technologies and, despite an unstable multilateral approach, to establish collective principles, regulatory conditions and ethically justified boundaries. Human dignity is the clear starting point and goal of the normative compass in the digital age. Today it is becoming particularly relevant, and its protection is the central task of digitalization. This is closely related to ensuring a focus on the public good and the introduction of the digital revolution in the strategy of sustainable development.
