Sustainable hotel product as the base of ecological cruises in the Russian Federation

The article is devoted to the formation and promotion of a hotel product in ecological cruises that meets the criteria of sustainability and environmental friendliness. The relevance of the article is due to the growing attention to ecological tourism in general, and also ecological as part of such tourism activities. On the other hand, cruises raise doubts about their environmental safety. Therefore, the article is aimed at studying the possibilities for the ecological cruises in Russia considering the sustainable hotel product development. For this, the authors define the sustainability criteria for the hotel product of ecological cruises. The article presents the author’s model of the composition of a sustainable hotel product in an ecological cruise. The authors investigate ecological cruises offered by operators in Russia and identify successful practices in the formation of a sustainable hotel product in them. A SWOT analysis of ecological cruises in Russia allows to highlight the problems of the hotel product sustainability in them and offer the measures to form and promote a sustainable hotel product in the Russian ecological cruise sector.
