Heat utilization of exhaust gases of gas pumping units of compressor stations of Shurtanneftgaz

This article discusses the possibility and feasibility of utilizing the heat of high-temperature exhaust gases of one gas-pumping unit of a compressor station on a waste-heat boiler to generate heat-extraction water for heating and hot water supply of compressor station facilities in order to save energy. The results of technical and economic calculations during the implementation of the waste heat boiler are presented, the potential opportunities and benefits from the implementation are shown. Conventional district heating systems do not provide the estimated fuel savings and overall efficiency. This is due mainly to two reasons. The effect of fuel savings from the centralization of heat supply is practically reduced to zero due to the fact that the efficiency of boiler houses has been increased to the level of efficiency of power boilers. The second component of the fuel effect from the combined generation of electricity and heat at CHPPs also turned out to be lower than the calculated one due to heat losses and losses with leaks during the transport of hot water over long distances.
