Lost chance? New attempt of compromise between Soviet and Chinese Communist Parties after Khrushchev

Бесплатный доступ

After the removal of Khrushchev in 1964 CPC sent the delegation headed by Zhou Enlai in order to make clear the attitude of the new Soviet leaders to China. It had also to urge CPSU on reversal of general line of 20 th Party Congress. But there were no real conditions for reconciliation at that time between CPC and CPSU. They had no reserves for making a compromise on the main problems discussed. The incident with Marshal Malinovskiy before the talks put an additional obstacle in this way. So, we can’t call it as «the lost chance» because there was no chance of this kind at all.
