V. A. Zvegintsev’s thoughts on the prospects of the formation of theoretical linguistics and the beginning of cogitology

The issues of the formation of theoretical linguistics considered by the Soviet linguist V. A. Zvegintsev are overviewed. Within and in addition to his ideas the prospects of the development of cogitology as the development of the integrative science about linguistic consciousness and speechthinking are determined.
