Dobrynina M. I. In unity there is strength (from the practice of Baikal-Amur Mainline construction)

The article deals with the problems of constructing Buryat sector of the Baikal- Amur Mainline (BAM). We have analyzed the key motives for the construction of broadgauge railway line, its transformation into a national project, forms and methods of involving representatives of all national and socio-class communities and groups of the country in its building, discussed social, spiritual and moral problems of BAM workers, inclusion of scientific divisions of Buryatia in solving production and socio-cultural issues in the places of constructing the mainline. The article has shows the practice of building cities and urban-type settlements on the BAM, their improvement and careful attitude to the ecology of the area in question. All this was created by the joint efforts of Russians.
