Vakhtangov's principles in Nikolay Akimov's directing

The article is devoted to the study of the influence of the theatrical school of Yevgeny Vakhtangov on the directorial work of Nikolay Akimov at the Leningrad Comedy Theatre. The author analyzes the reasons for Akimov's adherence to Vakhtangov's theatrical aesthetics and draws attention to the Vakhtangov principles that were used in his work. Special attention is paid to the identical understanding of the term "festivity" by Vakhtangov and Akimov, and the author proves the use of Vakhtangov's "triad" in Akimov's theatrical practice. As a result of the analysis, the author concludes that the use of Vakhtangov's principles in Nikolay Akimov's directing allowed him to create highly artistic productions that had a vivid artistic individuality and remained popular with audiences for decades.
