CBR currency interventions under the conditions of the coronavirus pandemic and drop of oil prices

This article discusses currency interventions of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation in March-April 2020 in the context of the coronavirus pandemic and low oil prices. For the first time since the introduction of the new budget rule, the regulator began to use the mechanism of currency interventions to maintain the exchange rate of the national currency. Author overview dependence of the dynamics of the national currency exchange rate on the volume of currency interventions in the daily trading turnover of a currency pair.
