Set of discrete orthogonal signals

Бесплатный доступ

In this paper a problem of choosing a set of discrete orthogonal signals for wireless telecommunication systems with code division multiple access (CDMA) is considered. An algorithm designed to generate new sets of discrete orthogonal signals with appropriate characteristics is presented. The algorithm is based on the properties of eigenvectors of bidiagonal Hermitian matrix. Set cardinality is determined by matrix dimension and coefficients. Set generation process starts with a smaller dimension and ends with the desired one. During the process an adequacy of a set to the requirements is checked. A new set of discrete orthogonal signals with cardinality of N=64 and improved autocorrelation and spectral characteristics is generated and compared with the known sets of Walsh, Rademacher, Varakin and D-codes. The new set has better qualities than the previously known sets. It can be used in wireless CDMA networks and in multipath channels in particular.
