Most of the 0.4 kV transmission lines of rural electric networks are made according to radial schemes, and do not have network redundancy and partitioning. It reduces the reliability of power supply of rural consumers. Damage at any point of the power line leads to unjustified interruptions in the power supply of all connected consumers. The solution to this problem is to create means of network partitioning and redundancy for power lines with voltage 0.4 kV, including multi-circuit switching systems (MCS) that allow switching several sections of power lines. Various types of ISS have been developed, including multi-contact switching systems with a bridge circuit, for example, MKSM-4. The MCS has four power contact groups with independent control, connected by a bridge scheme. The main advantage of using the MCS is the ability to automatically or remotely change the network scheme, while the MCS with a bridge scheme have greater opportunities to change the network configuration compared to other types of MCS. If there are several energy sources in the power supply system, the use of MKSM-4 makes it possible to control the network operation modes and the loading of these sources, to control the network operation modes, implementing a number of principles of intelligent electric networks.
