Autonomic nervous system in patients with myocardial infarction

Over the past decade, studies of autonomic dysregulations of the heart in norm and pathology, as a consequence of a conscious need, have occupied a prominent place in clinical and experimental cardiology. The existing discrepancy in the interpretation of the results obtained is not only, but most often, explained by the shortcomings of the software and technical support of research, as well as the unavailability of publications on this topic in distant retrospect until the 90s. This review offers a historical digression into the methodological foundations of the analysis of heart rate variability (HRV), which of course does not exhaust all the many publications, but represents that part of the world research experience that seemed important to us for determining the role of dysregulations of pacemaker activity of the sinus node (SU) of the heart in the most common and life-threatening form of diseases.
