The article is devoted to research of Venice theme in the late poetry by V.V.Wiedle. The lyric verses “No”, “Venice talks:” and “The ballad about Venice” are analyzed in correlation to each other and to the author’s essay “Praise to Venice”. It is emphasized that Venice is “the last love” for Weidle and that each verse under question contains a sense-building motif of unbreakable tie between the persona’s fate and the town’s fate. It is revealed that it is “The ballad about Venice” where the motif culminates. According to the author’s logic, people who “got to know” Venice and “loved it with knowledge-base love” at one time become immortal together with Venice.
