Process of accession of Mongolia to the World Trade Organization (1991-1997)

Negotiations about WTO accession were the first big diplomatic step of new Mongolia after the transition towards democracy and market economy. Mongolia has transformed its economy, institutions and society in order to become a member of the WTO for six years. It became a member of the WTO on 29th of January in 1997. Mongolia went through transition period successfully, and now it is a full-fledged member of World Trade Community. It benefits from membership and implements commitments of the WTO.
