The article deals with the issues of labor safety when using small-scale mechanization tools used in agriculture and other industries. The largest number of which are hand-held percussion and rotary machines. Also, the article lists the types of work using hand-held machines, professions that are considered vibration-hazardous, and also provides the results of research, the most significant factor that affects the occurrence and development of an occupational disease and determines working conditions. To reduce the level of vibration disease, improve working conditions for persons working with hand-held machines, it is not enough to investigate only the vibration factor, it is necessary to consider all factors in the production process, which are a unified system of labor safety. Therefore, the classical system of occupational safety is considered, where the components are "man - machine - external environment". Hand-held machines are hand-held power tools that transmit local vibration to the operator. Analysis of statistical data on working conditions, for the period from 2017 to 2019 shows that occupational diseases from exposure to local vibration rank second in the list of occupational diseases from exposure to harmful and hazardous industrial factors. The vibration levels of this power tool, in octave bands, are well above established limits. The article provides an analysis of vibration levels for various hand-held machines, which indicates that the use of hand-held machines and the factors that determine the working conditions create conditions for an increased risk of vibration morbidity.
