The article features a retrospective analysis of 307 medical patient histories with surgical infections, hospitalized in «MUZ City Clinical Hospital» (Municipal Healthcare Institution, building 3), Blagoveshchensk in 1985-1996 and 1997-2009 and analyses of archival materials of bacteriological laboratory. The spectrum of microorganisms available for microbiological examination of material from surgical patients was examined. The predominant etiological role of Gram-negative bacteria in patients with abdominal sepsis was detected. The role of microbial associations (Escherichia coli with Staphylococcus aureus, with Staphylococcus epidermidis and bacteria Proteus spp.) increased; as well as the proportion of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in 1,2 times and fungi of the genus Candida in 1,6 times; the number of mixed infection - to 16,1% of cases. Based on the results of selected agents antibioticogramm analysis, the application of abdominal sepsis drugs of Carbapenem's (Meropenem, Imipenem, Doripenem) and Cephalosporin's III-IV generation (Cefoperazone, Cefepim, Cefpirom) for empirical antibacterial therapy was approved.
