Types of other grounds for exemption from serving a sentence and their classification

Introduction: this article discusses various grounds for exemption from serving a sentence provided by law, which fall under the concept of "other". Special attention is paid to the grounds that were not previously paid due attention. Materials and methods: the author analyzes the sources of law that affect the application of other grounds for release from serving a sentence, their doctrinal and official interpretation, and judicial practice. Various legal positions are compared regarding the nature and content of other grounds for release from serving a sentence. In order to systematize the knowledge obtained in the course of the research, as well as for a more clear, structured approach to the study of the institute of other grounds for release from serving a sentence in the future, other grounds for release from serving a sentence are generalized and classified on the basis of available scientific approaches. Results of the study: can be used in scientific, educational and practical activities. The proposed classification will make it possible to legally and reasonably apply the relevant legal norm in the future. Findings and conclusions: the institute of other grounds for release from serving a sentence has not been sufficiently considered in modern legal science. In order to eliminate the existing gaps and conflicts in the legal regulation of the studied group of norms, changes are required in some normative legal acts regulating the release from serving a sentence.
