Victimological prevention of some violant crimes committed against elderly women

At present, violence against the elderly is a burning problem that has been the subject of open discussion since the mid-nineties of the last century. The author in the work considers the victimization of the elderly, in particular the female. The article formulates the main reasons in connection with which the offenders choose the elderly as the object of their criminal assault. In this study, the author analyzes the victimogenic factors that contribute to the commission of crimes against older persons, especially women. In this paper, we present the statistical reporting data of the GIAC of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, confirming the negative trend of an increase in the share of elderly people in the total mass of all victims of income. In the study, the author focuses on a significant number of elderly people who became victims of grave moderate crimes. The importance of carrying out activities not only aimed at the prevention of crime, but also at persons prone to become victims of violent crimes or have already become such, is emphasized. The analysis of the effectiveness of the existing approaches in carrying out victimological prophylaxis among the specified category of the population is carried out, and attention is also focused on the most promising areas in this area.
