Victimological aspects of general characteristics and prevention of crimes against life and health in the institutions of the penitentiary system

The activity of correctional institutions, which are complex social systems, is of an intensely situational nature. A large number of reasons that impede the normal functioning of the institution, oblige managers to professionally accurately identify and take into account various factors and circumstances, patterns, trends and problems, to coordinate the activities of structural units promptly through management decisions made on the basis of knowledge of the actual situation in the institution. Analytical work provides identification of general and particular problems, provides an assessment of the effectiveness of the functioning of the system, an understanding of the objectives, the choice of options for the best solutions. Taking into account the victimological aspects of crimes against life and health committed in penitentiary institutions, improves understanding of situational factors and opens up opportunities for their prevention.
