Victimological aspects of preventing arson and destruction or damage to other people’s property by careless handling of fire

This article is an experience of understanding the actual problem of victimological prevention of arson and destruction or damage to other people’s property by careless handling of fire . The empirical base of the article is formed on the basis of official, open statistics of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, as well as sociological research conducted within the framework of research in the format of dissertation research . Theoretically, the authors are most interested in the results of a detailed classification of the victims of these crimes on various grounds . Thus, a structurally organized material was obtained that allows us to get to the essential aspects of the problem under study, as well as formulate a number of scientifically sound applied recommendations . A methodologically structured hierarchy of measures for victimological prevention of arson and destruction or damage to other people’s property by careless handling of fire is proposed, the subjects of which are primarily the internal affairs bodies and the SFS of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia . At the same time, educational work with the public is an effective means of victimological prevention . The authors of the article believe that victimological prevention should be focused on correcting the motivational attitudes of the individual, which, in turn, requires educational efforts both in the format of mass events and individual work .
