The victimological dimension of criminal deaths in the Russian Federation: an analysis of statistical indicators 2015-2020

The article examines the state and trends of criminal mortality in Russia in the period from 2015 to 2020, using the materials of the official departmental statistics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. It describes the structure of criminal mortality according to the criminal law criteria by dividing it into two major types: crimes against life and health and crimes against traffic safety and operation of transport, which determine the state of criminal victimization in the country. There is a general downward trend in the criminal mortality in the Russian Federation during this period, despite the growth of crime, victimization and overall mortality. This trend also affects the most socially vulnerable segments of the population - women and minors, reducing the negative consequences of Russian crime.
