Victimology of digital crime: research direction concept

The need to protect society from crime, taking into account the peculiarities of its victimization, as well as transformation and adaptation to existing realities, poses the task of victimological security in the context of the development of digitalization not only to the state, but also to the scientific community of criminologists and victimologists . The use of the achievements of digital technologies for criminal purposes gives rise to new types of victimization of society . This situation causes the need for large-scale, more serious victimization research in this area and requires new forms and methods of countering crime .On the pages of the journal “Victimology” many times discussed the problems associated with victimization of society in the context of digital crime and various types of its manifestations . I believe that there is a need to introduce a new section devoted to the victimization aspects of digital crime and the digitalization of modern society .
