The author analyzes contradictions in contemporary historiography caused by insufficiently grounded use of the term church right opposition in regard to the Victorian movement in the Russian Orthodox Church. This movement came into being after the Declaration of 1927 was issued, and was named after its leader, the Bishop Victor (Ostrovidov). The author argues that the term schism describes those events more precisely.
Historiography, bishop victor (ostrovidov), church right opposition, declaration of 1927, schism, "victorianism"
