The article considers contemporary media-society in the relation with the transformation of cultural discourse of everyday practices associated with “visual turn", change of functions and statuses of images, new usage of visual information. Visual representation is discussed as a universal feature of contemporary everyday life, since it is becoming an essential factor of social practices, lifestyles, habitus of a modern human, his/her identity. The authors show dominant role of media channels - TV, video and the Internet in this new situation. By case study of the mobile application Instagram the authors observe the possibility for visual images to be a new form of communication.
