Contribution of M.E. Nikolaev to the formation of international relations of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)

This paper presents an analysis of the activities of the first president of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) M.E. Nikolaev in relation to the foreign policy of the republic. His goals and tasks on development of international relations are considered. The first activities in the field of sports, culture and trade, which contributed to the advancement in this direction, are presented. The most significant achievements in the development of the region have been analyzed. Implementation of his ideas in the sphere of foreign policy is shown, as well as results of his activity are considered.
