In the early 20th century there were numerous Slavic organisations in Russia. All of them supported the struggle of Balkan people towards their liberation from Turkish rule. They were engaged in both educational and charitable activities. The degree of their participation in humanitarian aid to victims of hostilities of the Balkan Peninsula remains to be cleared. The author examines practical activities of the Moscow Slavic Committee during the period of Balkan wars in 1912-1913 which consisted of collecting donations and sending medical care units in the Balkans. The author concludes that the Moscow Slavic Committee could not provide a medical care to Bulgaria and Serbia without the support of the Moscow City Government.
